ORIGINI

ORIGINI/Collettività raccoglie i contributi su forme e metafore, immagini archetipali e collettive.

ORIGINI. The project contains some of the contributions made by artists for the opening of Dimora OZ (14 / 17 July, 2014) and interventions of new connections. ORIGINI presents two subject studies: Self and collective. The first leads to an intimate investigation; the second, through metaphors and archetypal images, investigates on a collective level. Accidental bonds of subjective and collective identity are not therefore only temporary expressions as the roots, but are presented under the contemporary world with people able to suggest an overcoming.
ORIGINI / Self collects contributions on an intimate sphere research. In this we find Georges Salameh, Mäsiar Pasquali, Tamar Hayduke, Yousif Latif Jaralla addressing the issue of their ethnic origins (respectively: Greek-Lebanese, Italian-Iranian, Armenian-Syrian, Iraqi), always with an intimate and personal feeling; the first with an inherited s8mm, where his father is put in front of the consequences of the Lebanese civil war and the Greek economic crisis; the second deals with a trip with his mother to Iran looking for a soothing dimension; the third artist will perform in four languages (Armenian, Arabic, English, Italian) to highlight the fundamental role of the superposition of the plurality of languages in the composition of a person; last but not least Yousif Latif Jaralla reinterprets some Sufi narrative materials, old stories translated into postmodern and circular narrations. Stefan Bressel and Libera A. Aiello develop two themes about the Alter; Bressel playing with the polarity Blinky Palermo / the city of Palermo and its relationship as a German artist landed in Sicily; while Libera A. Aiello develops an avatar / alter ego, with the figure of Mary Magdalene as female archetype and figure of revenge. Mr. Richichi closes perfectly the research on the “self”, investigating through a series of interviews the identity of Mr. Richichi, as a subject, as an oeuvre filtered by the media, the idea of the self and the construction of fake identities.
ORIGINI / Collective gathers form and metaphor researches though archetypal and collective images. Gandolfo Gabriele David exhibits photos of Axis Mundi, an installation thought by researches of ancient Sicilian rites (the Christ of bands procession and the traditional dance ‘Cordella’) and the architectural archetypes (Indian tepee and omphalos). The works dedicated to the community of this section are often based on an extrapolation process. Fabio R. Lattuca proposes a technical study of the Sicilian soundscape through an invisible form: the wind. On the same subject of sound language, Nicola Di Croce explores the urban sounds as an intangible and cultural heritage; while Federico Bonelli works in the Crypt of the Chapel for a project on the morphogenesis of the substance, starting with light and sound through a cymatics development project; in the same place, Sergio Barbàra examines the issue of the indissoluble relationship between man and the earth, extracting from underground some roots of an olive tree and exposing the slow work of anchoring to the ground. Daniele Di Luca studies on organic patterns that usually do not fall under visual perception. Andrea Kantos and Andrea Mineo will show the video ReMoto a Luogo, here the main metaphors are the ability to deepen into communication and the ability to generate new rules. During the opening of the exhibition Claudia Di Gangi will organize a happening / painting based on Darwin’s suggestions, the work investigates on desire, the primitive origin of this, the pursuit of pleasure, the ecstasy, as a compelling need to feel in contact with the others.
